Boavista is the Cape Verde island for laid back beach life .. and has fabulous year round sunshine. Boavista is a desert island, blessed with miles of unspoilt sandy beaches with clear turquoise seas.
The island doesn’t just appeal to those who want to bask on the beach though .. its a favoured location for divers, windsurfers and kitesurfers and, it also attracts thousands of loggerhead turtles!

Boavista offers a wonderful opportunity to experience the daily life of the island residents, including their markets & craft shops, fishing boats and unspoilt surroundings.
Sal Rei is the main town with its cobbled streets and colourful, portuguese style homes and colonial buildings. Around the main square you will find a number of cafes and restaurants with local music and musicians playing in the evenings.

Boavista is one of the largest nesting grounds for loggerhead turtles, and a conservation project has been set up on the southern coast to protect them. If you happen to be there one night between June and September you might be able to see the turtles come ashore to lay their eggs. If you’re having a winter holiday, maybe you will spot the magnificent humpback whales, often seen off of Sal Rei, instead.
Whilst tourism is increasing, at the moment, Boavista offers a haven for those seeking sun, surf and relaxation, with the opportunity to be able to step safely into a totally different culture and lifestyle.
