Cape Verde Islands

Carnival in Cape VerdeWelcome to Hotel Cape Verde.co.uk, where you can choose your perfect hotel or holiday in the Cape Verde Islands of Sal, Boa Vista, Santiago and Sao Vicente.

The Islands of Cape Verde each have their own unique character, but are collectively known for their beautiful sandy beaches, clear turquoise ocean and glorious year round sunshine.

We currently feature holidays and holiday accommodation at four of the islands – Sal, Santiago, Sao Vicente and Boavista – as these have direct flights from the UK.

Map of Cape Verde Islands

The islands are located off the west coast of Africa and south of the Canary Islands and have a blend of African and Portuguese influences.

Cape Verde Holiday Guides

  • Boavista is a desert island, with miles of fabulous beaches, surfing and diving activities.
  • Sal is more developed than Boavista but again, with miles of gorgeous beaches and surfing and diving facilities.
  • Santiago is more cosmopolitan, great for culture, nightlife, big game fishing and boat trips
  • Sao Vicente is green, mountainous and more African, great for birdwatching, walking and traditional live music.

Cape Verde Weather

The climate varies across the Cape Verde Islands but in general, the temperature ranges from 24-30 degrees with 8-10 hours of sunshine a day. There is a breeze which keeps the heat comfortable and not too humid and, there is very little, if any, rain.  Please refer to the individual pages for a summary and forecast for weather in Boavista, weather in Sal, weather in Santiago or weather in Sao Vicente

 Cape Verde Islands

The Cape Verde Islands are a relatively new holiday destination for UK holiday-makers, as direct flights from the UK weren’t available until 2006. Needless to say, the word is spreading and, as the islands appeal to such a wide range of traveller (not to mention practically guaranteed sunshine!) they are sure to become a firm favourite.

That said, traditional local life is still very much alive adding charm, memorable experiences and an individuality that is often missing from large resorts.
